Our story

Hello and welcome to Doto!

Doto began with a simple wish: to create handmade, delightful toys that make kids playtime more interactive for parents.

The idea was born when I'd recently become a dad and was struggling to find soft, huggable and chemical-free toys for my daughter. The ones I could get were created with little care for their impact on the world or the people who made them.

My mom was visiting then. She knew sewing from her younger days. We sat together at home, sketching, stitching, and slowly shaping the first toys while our little one played beside us. What began as a family project of love soon grew into something bigger: Doto was born.

Later, we went to our village in Bihar. My mom knew women there who were doing small jobs on and off, but for almost nothing. Their hands were skilled, their opportunities weren’t. We invited them in. Today, they stitch every Doto toy with love, and they’re paid fairly for it.

As Doto grows, our dream is simple:

- To give parents, small stories to share at playtime
- To use kinder, sustainable yarns.
- Help women in bihar's villages earn fairly for her hardwork
